Samuel Spano


A true sportsman, Sam has been active in the West Virginia Bowling Association for the past 29 years. He has served as assistant director of our state tournament twice and has been tournament director of our state tournament twice and has been the  tournament director on two other occasions. He is currently the secretary of the Weirton Bowling Association, just completing his 16th consecutive term in office. Sam has worked hard in the Weirton area promoting youth bowling. In addition, as a deacon in his Presbyterian church, he has been an active leader in youth activities including organizing overnight bowling parties, excursions, and summer camps. The WVBA recognizes these many years of service and offers its sincere thanks by this induction.

 

D.G. "Jack" Keener


As a proprietor of Emerson Lanes in Parkersburg, Jack Keener has been a familiar name in Parkersburg Bowling circles for many years. He has been an ardent supporter for the West Virginia Bowling Association, junior bowling and the special Olympics. His bowling accomplishments include seven 300 games, three 800 series, and a lifetime average of over 200+. He was the WVBA Singles Champion in 1958. Other championships include singles, doubles and all-events in the Parkersburg association tournaments and the all-time singles record in the Clarksburg association tournament.

 

Roger Workman


Roger's bowling career has spanned over 35 years, with his current involvement including the proprietorship of Ceredo Lanes, part-time touring on the PBA Senior Tour. He has rolled six sanctioned 300 games, amassed a high average of 227, and has five 800 series. He won the Jim Shaw Match title in 1977, the West Virginia Match Games in 1977 and the Greater Louisville, Kentucky all-events champion in 1979. His regional exposure began in 1961 when he won the Big Three Bowling title rolling a televised 742 series in the finals. Roger has been active in his church and youth organizations bringing the bowling message to the Ceredo-Kenova area. A true gentleman and  skilled master of the game of bowling, the WVBA is proud to enshrine his name in our Hall of Fame.
