William A. Thomas
Hall of Fame, Class of 1995
William Thomas has been bowling for 42 years, with a high
average of 205, two 300 games and high series of 762. He has participated
in activities of the state association for over 30 years. Some of his
bowling titles include state doubles champ in 1959, state Moose team
champion, 14 league championship teams, 6 association all-events champ. Also
a member of Brunswick 300 club, member of ABC Eleven in a Row club,
and bowled in 31 ABC National Tournaments with a average of 185.397.
He
was a PBA member in 1959 and 1960, bowled on the 1976 Hoinke Championship
team, and bowled in Peterson Classic for 20 years. Bill has been one of
the better bowlers in the association for over 30 years. He was
instrumental in the organization of the Kanawha Valley Association. He has
been an elder statesman of bowling in the area, one that others seek out
for advise.
A Mason and member of Scottish Rites Bodies and Shriner Beni
Kedem Temple for 22 years. He has been a member of the Charleston Elks
Lodge #202 for 37 years. Bill's hobbies include bowling and golf.
